Hagopian’s early period paintings, created while living in Egypt, are dominated by an unhappy atmosphere, capturing the hard life of the people in his paintings. Each of them allows a glimpse into the painter’s inner world, each testifies to his remarkable ability to express a lot even with a minimum of pictorial means. The objects in his paintings of this period always dominate the space visually, from which air has been removed entirely and has left a complete vacuum. |
